Greeted by a friendly smiling face on arrival, shown where everything was and even shown where we could get some fresh milk and filtered water in the kitchen if we needed it and then escorted to our room. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Everything you could possibly want including free wifi access (although we did not use it on this occasion). The room was comfortable and clean, with onsuit shower and toilet, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, hair dryer and a nice free-view TV. Breakfast was excellent with tea, coffee, fruit juice and everything you would want from just cereal, toast or eggs through to a full English, which I had, and this was really nicely prepared and presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. All in all a really nice stay. Would certainly stay here again if the need arises.

Myself and my husband stayed 2 nights at the Hermitage - we couldn't fault anything - the rooms were spotless and the bed very comnfortable. The breakfast you could have a choice of either full English or a continental breakfast. We did eat in the evenings in the bar and had 2 lovely evening meals (the only reason we didn't eat in the restaurant was because we didn't want 3 courses). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We even got to take home 'Hermie' the complimentary Hermitage Hotel duck. Thank you for a lovely stay - we highly recommend your hotel and would certainly stay again.

The hotel was comfortable and central, and while the en suite looked a little squashed at first glance (shower cubicle in bedroom, only toilet as separate area) it was more than adequate. Incredibly central and convenient. I wasn't on a beach holiday but this hotel is stone's throw away for anyone who is looking for that.
The full breakfasts looked very good. I had to leave early the following day so couldn't take full advantage, but the bacon sandwich whipped up for me (outside breakfast hours) was very tasty!
The only negative point relates to the check-in slot. The restrictive window of time (4-6pm) was a cause for concern on the day. The language of the confirmation e-mail was rather blunt and implied that late check-ins were very unwelcome, and after my travel plans went slightly awry this caused me unnecessary stress. The owners accommodated a later check-in but given the weight of traffic on all routes approaching Swanage I couldn't wholeheartedly recommend that anyone try to pop down for a weekend break here unless they could take the whole day for travel on Friday.

Had a great time in Bournemouth with my girlfriend and my parents. I'm 19 and I have to say this area and hotel suited us (myself and girlfriend) and my parents equally, a brilliant mix of what could be asked for in the area. A very comfortable and quiet sleep even though we slept with the windows open. The floorboards in the corridors creak aggressively but we couldn't hear that from in the room. The breakfasts were fantastic and the service was brilliant, food being changed constantly to supply the demands of the customers. Will definitely return here again and perhaps even try the cakes and tea, and maybe even the very appetising menus.

I have to say that from the facilities I used I was pleased, but unfortunately I broke my foot whilst staying in Bournemouth that weekend, so spent most of the night in A&E bed, but when I eventually did get back to the B&B I was pleased to find comfort. Also due to us getting back early hours, we were given a little extra time to pack up and leave but this really was due to broken foot and not being able to get about as quickly as I would have liked.
