I rarely rate 5 stars, but there was nothing wrong with my stay here. the staff was professional and courteous. the room was comfortable. they made personal accommodations for me and my then fiance. All of my wedding party stayed there and enjoyed the rooms and Gabriel's restaurant. 4 diamond hotel. Great location and price.
During a three state trip, this was the best hotel in which we stayed. The staff (front desk, wait staff, bell staff) were, without exception, upbeat, friendly, and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the river with downtown beyond. This is better than a view from downtown, yet provides easy access to downtown, the University district and trendy South Congress region.
We went to Austin for a 3 day weekend. When first walking in, the giant Christmas tree in the lobby is a lovely sight. Valet parking was good, we only had to wait once (we called down but it still took an additional few minutes). Overall, we had a very nice stay, and would definitely come back!
truly one of the best hotel experiences from start to end. we received immediate, friendly assistance at check-in and were further impressed when we were given two vouchers for free drinks in the hotel's lounge. everything just went smoothly during our all-too-brief stay. we sat on the patio and enjoyed our drinks and some food, to include some of the best sushi I've ever had. our room, overlooking the river, was very nice, very clean. the shower had excellent pressure, the bed was comfortable, and...FREE internet. that might seem like a small thing, but it never ceases to amaze me when we stay in places that charge several hundred dollars for a room and then charge for internet use. it was FREE and it was appreciated. very nice value-added amenity.
I like the Four Seasons and have been a regular over the years. There is nothing not to like except the price. They have priced themselves out of my market unless I can't get anything else downtown which was the case this past weekend. This is Austin not the French Riviera.

Overall, our stay at Hotel Ella was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We really like that they have a bar that hosts happy hour everyday for half off all drinks and bar appetizers. My husband particularly enjoyed the local beers served at the bar as he is a beer enthusiast. We took advantage of their free car service (first come, first serve) pickup/drop-off to nearby locales and tourist spots. The drivers were friendly and were knowledgeable on local recommendations for places to see, visit, and eat. They also have free bikes to use but didn't get a chance to try it. Our room was on the first floor (windows faced a fence) but next time we come back, we will pick a room where the window faces to the poolside area. The hotel did an excellent job of cleaning our rooms, making it comfortable, and having a turndown service every evening. However, there was some inconsistency on how the housekeeping left our articles of clothing and toiletries in the room. (I guess this may be due to different housekeeping staff doing the cleaning everyday.) The hotel was also quick on getting us something we requested when we called the front desk (example: forks and napkins if we ate inside our room.) We would love to come back to Austin again and if we do, Hotel Ella would be our choice for a hotel.
Not only was I within easy walking distance of everything I needed to get to (campus, restaurants, numerous districts) but the rooms were beautiful and the staff was incredibly sweet. They even welcomed me with a street map, personalized directions, and a glass of wine! I will definitely be returning.
We had a very nice stay in this hotel for a family wedding. The rooms were clean and large, the event facilities were gorgeous and the food was fantastic. We were even able to check in early and check out late. The hotel is located in the Arboretum, a shopping and entertainment area on the north side of Austin. The main downside of the hotel is that it will be fairly out of the way if you are looking to spend lots of time downtown. The only slight hiccup in our stay was that we had paid a rate to include wifi access, but the access code wasn't included when we checked in. However, we ended up being so busy that it wasn't an issue.
