The plus side, I could watch the sun rise from my room balcony. Enjoy the seafood and a night stroll by the beach. Vung Tau is still developing and Lotte Mart is coming up soon, can't wait to have more shopping venues. Didn't see much massage spa like HCM, not sure if it is within the hotel. Sunday is family day where most locals will have picnic or enjoy quality time, the beach will be crowded. Overall, my stay was excellent.
This is not a fancy hotel by any means, but it is a great bargain for the price. It's right across from the beach and near many street food vendors and restaurants. The hotel is near the end of the bech so it's a bit less crowded and quieter. The beach is a bit trashy, but that's everywhere. Rented a big sun umbrella and chair for the day for less than $1.50 and cold beers are delivered for less than a dollar. The hotel seems pretty new, it is well maintained, the staff were friendly and nice, the breakfast was adequate with a large selection and everything was clean and comfortable. Free wi-if.
Mike from HCMC, VN. Presently, I'm an international teacher.
The hotel food was pretty good, especially the Malasian choices. The Staff were very helpful, attentive and smiling. Particularly recommend the Laundry Service that is quick, well done and very good value.
Hotel is in front of beach.. and you can hire a motorbike at hotel.
It is much cheaper to use moto than hire taxi, and moto is fun!.
Room is clean, food is good and 1 super friendly staff. Overall, good value for money!
I originally booked this hotel for one night. I was planing on doing a quick getaway out of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to get away from the traffic and noise of HCMC. I ended up staying an extra night because the hotel and city was that enjoyable. I went during midweek and booked it through Expedia and got a great rate (under twenty usd). The hotel is very new and everything in my room worked fine. I slept fantastic! So well that I missed the complimentary breakfast both days, so I can't attest to its tastiness.
The room is within walking distance to the beach, which was quite nice (minus the washed up trash). However, at night you'll need a taxi to get to the nicer restaurants and bars in Vung Tau as they are all located next to the ferry terminal or downtwon.
I already miss this hotel and the quietness of Vung Tau. It's only 1.5 hours away from HCMC by hydrofoil ferry so I'll be back.
This Hotel is next to the Front beach and in the middle of this small town.
You can rent a motorcycle and go to the back beach which is nicer. Rex hotel is in the near of the ferry terminal and not far away from the Jesus Statue.
Breakfast Buffet is satisfying. Rooms are clean and big.
There are a lot of nice restaurants around.
