A typical beach resort on the Versilia coast, Tirrenia extends along a 10-kilometre stretch of fine sand, sheltered by pines and a scenic backdrop of the Alps. Regular buses run from Pisa and the resort attracts crowds of locals at weekends. Water pollution is sometimes a problem, but there are plenty of leisure activities beyond the beach.
