Staff were very informative, friendly and polite, clean and tidy room and Hotel, good location within walking distance of all the shops etc. easy and free parking, excellent value for money, I cant recommend this Hotel enough
We were using the hotel for one night to break up a holiday journey and it proved to be a great place to relax and set us up for our onward journey. We made full use of the pool and it gave us a great start to our holiday.
"Excellent food with a warm and lasting welcome and"
A wonderful welcome from the owners of the Bird in Hand. The pub itself is quirky in it's upper layout and a real treat to try to work out, this may account to the buildings age as it has been standing since well before the Ironbridge itself. The rooms are comfortably furnished with a 70's early 80's feel, with all you need for a short stay. Meticulously clean throughout with a shower en-suite, tea and coffee, radio TV and beds that are SO comfortable, had it not been for the bedroom window view of the River Severn in the mornings and the promise of a lovely and filling home cooked breakfast served with a hearty felt Good Morning from Steve, it would have been hard to leave the beds amazing comfort. The food at the Bird in Hand is impeccable, the hardest part was deciding what to have from an extensive menu and the daily specials. The portions are generous but just right for a holiday indulgent. Allow for a rest between starter, main and then dessert if you can fit it. If you cannot please rest a while loner with a cask ale or cider until you can fit a pud in, you wont regret it. The family running are accommodating, friendly and go out of their way to assist. This B&B was a rare find in this current days trend for clinical and impersonate hotel B&B trends. It's a establishment that we will be returning to as they have perfected the art of a traditional B&B service.
Wonderful welcome from staff when we arrived. Room was spotless. The bar/restaurant always very busy, but they make an effort to accommodate you for an evening meal. The portions are huge, and the food fresh and hot from the kitchen.
The many staff are on the go non stop but always serve your meal with a smile.
There is wi-fi as advertised, but perhaps the landlord could do with a quick tech lesson as how to get the best from the router, but to be honest, you go away to escape, so not a major issue.
The breakfast is lovely and freshly cooked, with a good selection, served when we were there between 08:30-09:30
The bar is not open at lunchtimes during the week, so bear that in mind when sorting your day ref. lunch etc., if staying local.
The bedding was clean and changed during our 5 night stay, and the room cleaned daily.
I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone, although the rooms are up steps for those with mobility issues.
If travelling with children there is a great play park as part of the establishment, ideal to burn off any excess energy.
Stayed recently with a friend, after a slight hick up checking in we got to our room easily. The room was spacious, very clean and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than I expected with a waterfall shower and deep bath.. extremely relaxing! People in room next door woke us arguing at 1:00am but didn't say anything as nothing much can be done about that situation. Will definitely stay again.
