Lovely small hotel in the heart of Talllinn Old Town. Beware though that some rooms are quite small, we had the option of looking at ours beforehand so our standard double was fine for the 4 days we were there, it was a groung floor room but we had no trouble with noises at all. Nice big bathroom with good towels and very clean. Try out all the yummy pastries at Cafe Mademoiselle!!
The hotel was excellent. Very close to the harbour, a short walk into old town. It was pretty quiet and I was right above the entry doors. Nearby there are small shops to buy snacks and different foods. Room has lots of room, very clean, good water pressure in the shower.
The staff were great and even put out breakfast early for us because we needed to catch an early ferry to Helsinki. The breakfast was exceptional. EXCELLENT location as it is a short walk to the Old Town and the ferry terminal is right across the street. The mall is a short walk away and is great for “people watching.” ~Gotta love the romantic strolls in the Old Town. I can’t wait to go back. YOU MUST go to Sohvabaar La Vie Tallinn restaurant in the Old Town. The food was great in a romantic setting with very reasonable prices.

"Very clean hotel with friendly and efficient staff"
I was in Tallinn for the marathon but this hotel would meet the needs of most visitors. If you do come for the marathon however the start and finish areas are less than a five minute walk from the hotel so it is handy for participants and supporters alike.
The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout and the staff are friendly and efficient. There is a German-themed restaurant on the lower ground floor where breakfast is taken. The restaurant's menu has been revised since my previous visit in 2013 and there is now a greater range of dishes available. I ate in the restaurant twice during my stay and the food was excellent as was the draft wheat beer.
I stayed at the Gotthard Residents for two nights in April while attending a conference. It was comfortable, cheap, and well located -- within the walls of the old city surrounded by amazing architecture and a stone's throw from the ferry launch. The decor felt very Estonian. The wifi was fast and free. And the free breakfast was generous and very good. I would stay there again.
Staff very helpful. Had room 408 luckily which looked down the Old Town. Possibly we would not have enjoyed quite as much the other side of the hotel which is by a main road. Breakfasts a little basic with only 4 warm plates, but sufficient for a weekend away. Wonderful architecture, and lucky to get to the National Opera (Tosca) and Kadriorg Palace and cottage too. The transport systems are very good, and we used the 48 hour Tallinn card which did save us 10 euros each. Can't recommend using the card for the restaurants as they were all more expensive than we imagined. The best restaurant we went to was Kohvik Moon with a great range of choices. Also Hermitage restaurant lunch offer was a tasty borscht and pie.

"Nice hotel just outside the medieval city center"
Stayed 2 nights in this hotel after our wedding. The staff was very helpful, when they heard we just got married they put us roses on the bed and champagne at our arrival. The room was clean and nice, and also silent (we were on the 7th floor, which surely helped). The breakfast was good and abundant (both salted and sweet) and at 6.5€ per day not expensive. The position is very good, you cross the road and are in front of the walls of the city centre, and well connected to the public transport (it is just in front of the railway station). Very good choice overall, we very very satisfied of the choice.
It is a wonderful hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast, and a good choice for those who wish to stay in Old Town. The one drawback is that there are many steps (including a spiral staircase) involved in accessing the rooms; should you have a heavy suitcase then you might want to factor that into your decision.
