I needed somewhere to stay in Guilford as I was attending a wedding the following day and wanted to arrive refreshed. I liked that this was a spa hotel and looked forward to relaxing in the pool. My experience went beyond what I could of hoped for. Altho the pool was small I was fortunate enough to have it more or less to myself with my teenage son ( there was only ever one other person around in the two hours we spent swimming, using the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna). We followed this up with quick bite to eat in the restaurant (chicken goujons and chips which were really tasty) before retiring to our room to snuggle and watch TV. During the evening there was a wedding reception but this in no way interfered with our stay and as we were on the 2nd floor we were not disturbed in any way. In the morning we had another hour in the spa before returning to have a continental breakfast in room whilst getting ourselves ready for the wedding.

We only had 2 nights at the White Horse Hotel,& and no meals (visiting family) What a lovely place, typical English. Old world & full of character, the Christmas decorations and open fire could have been on a Christmas card. Everywhere beautifully warm, comfortable and inviting. All the staff were so friendly & helpful. The rooms spotless, the beds with lovely linen, fluffy duvets, & soft but supportive mattress. We did not want to leave, but hopefully will return in the new year. Please ignore all the negative feedbacks and just hope these people, who it seems are not happy unless complaining, decide never to venture away from their cold, cheerless, perfect?? minimalist environs again. I could not believe some of the derisory remarks, ie.creaky floors, low ceilings, dark beams, stained carpets ( how awful) and God preserve us 'Dust', & much more. This building has been around and in use for a few hundred years, so I think the odd creak very acceptable. A great place to stay, but please leave the odd room vacant for when we return.
The hotel was bright + cheerfully decorated in modern classic style . The staff were pleasant and very helpful in particular aiding my handicapped sister with here special needs. Everything worked well .The swimming pool ,spa pool sauna + steam room were excellent as usual.
A superb hotel of 3 star standard set on probably, the prettiest High Street in the South of England. Nearby Airport- (LGW) …More
We had a comfortable room, with a spacious bathroom, at the front of the hotel. It was clean and airy, and was quiet at night for a good sleep. Breakfast is substantial, comprising cereals, toast and cooked breakfast if you want it. We were in the hotel two nights and each evening had dinner, which was excellent and well-cooked and reasonably priced. There is a comfortable bar for residents (and a public bar on the other side for locals) where we enjoyed a drink, or tea and coffee. We found the staff very friendly and efficient, and genuinely concerned to make our stay as enjoyable as they could. The hotel is so convenient for exploring the Devil's Punchbowl (being literally across the road from the car park and the National Trust shop) and was the perfect starting point for our walks.
Accommodation options in Cranleigh are limited so we were pleased to find this hotel when we specifically wanted to visit the village. Great location and excellent room size. Good cooked breakfast included. We stayed on a night when the pub had live music and this was very noisy until 11.30pm - however it was good music if we were up to it!! Some staff were very uninterested in customer service just fyi.
Free parking was a bonus especially as hotel is in the middle of a very pretty town. Staff very efficient and friendly. I said we were attending a function about two miles away and was immediately asked if we would like a car booked to take us there. The room was warm and comfortable with a hospitality tray and quality toiletries in the bathroom. The hotel was tastefully decorated ready for Christmas.
