For me it was a last minute snap decision to book (1/2 hour) I was not disappointed, the lady at the desk spoke broken English but she was amazingly helpful and pleasant. Something that impresses me. I must have stayed off-season because the rate was fantastic. The rooms were plain and basic but very clean and comfortable. My window opened to the beach and you could hear the waves all night which was very calming. There was tons of free parking and hotel is very easy to get to in a very car-friendly area.

"Central hotel near Cathedral and main shopping str"
This hotel is adequate for a one night stopover with a reasonable price that includes breakfast (basic buffet style). It is very central so expect to see a lot of people around. Warning - not much open in Rouen on Sunday.
Parking is in a Pay & Display car park nearby which is free after 7.00 pm and on Sundays.
We were in Rouen to see the Son et Lumiere show at the Cathedral but, without any explanation, it was cancelled! The system seemed to have failed but there was no announcement in spite of a crowd of thousands who eventually drifted away.
A very pleasing surprise ending to our short trip to Normandy. We loved our room which had lovely view to the sea. The staff were all very friendly. It is a short walk into the town, yet very peaceful. I wish we could have stayed longer. Charming and tranquil.

When you find your way into the car park (It's in the public car park of the shopping centre at St Severin) everything else is perfect. A pleasant, clean friendly hotel 3 tram stops from the centre of Rouen.

We have often stayed in Campanile hotels whilst touring, this however, was our first multi-night stay in one. from arival to departure the hotel owners and staff were friendly and welcoming. They cheerfuly and understandingly coped with my pidgeon French and made sure that they had fully understood what I was trying to convey. Notwithstanding the limited menu, the food in the resturant was excellent, one of the better examples of the breed. The hotel is well placed for exploring the local area, being close to the main arteries but far enough away that noise is not an issue. Situated in an out-of-town shopping zone, it is handy for the hypermarket for essential supplied on the return to the UK. All in all, we will stay here again.

We have always stayed at Barentin on our way back to Britain. We find it convenient, friendly, clean and the restaurent has fed us well. The staff have been friendly and gracious with our attempts at French.
The Hotel is what you should expect from this type of accomodation. Nothing flashy but more than adequete. If you want room service it is not the hotel for you. Only downside for us, bathrooms have shower over bath which is not suitable for people with disabilities even in Disabled Room.
We shall go on using this hotel as the plusses for us outweighs the negatives.
We have stayed in at least six different hotels in Rouen of this kind of classification. This was one of the nicest (a little but further out from where we tend to go, i.e. Le Saxo but only slightly). We actually didn't stay in the room much as we had things to do at a music festival in St Etienne Du Rouvray all day and evening.
