I was surprised how good the Explorer Hotel was - we were a little worried by some of the reviews. Our son has many complex food allergies which the staff were all aware of and they provide separate food for him at dinner time - not rubbish allergy food but proper salmon, chicken or cod with vegetables and rice or potatoes - and large portions. A special thanks to Patrick Pichon who took our long list of food allergies and found out what we could and couldn't eat for breakfast and dinner, he also greeted us on arrival and made sure Fabien ( dinner manager who was also fabulous) and Gael (the breakfast manager) knew who we were and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. They also provided us with a fridge in our room 5 mins after arrival because we had to carry special milk and margarine.
The room was great and our 3 year old loved the bunk beds - we were ment to have a 4 bed Crew room but they left the door open to the adjoining room which had another bunk bed in it and another flat screen tv. The room was decorated like a pirate ship :) . The shower was great - even though on of the kids had pulled the metal casing off the tube - plenty of hot water and high pressure. The tv was great once you worked out how to use it - they had Cbeebies in English - although it didn't get much use it was good to distract the little one while we fed him a snack.
The whole hotel is themed for little ones with a dragon in the foyer, 3 pirates ships one in the heated pool.
"Great choice for less expensive stay near Disney"
We rode the RER to the Disneyland stop and took the pink #50 bus to the first stop and then walked about 100 meters to the hotel. This was so convenient. This same bus picks you up right at the door to take you back to the station or Disney. The hotel staff was super and spoke English extremely well. The room was very clean. We did sleep on a sleeper sofa which we were a bit concerned about, but it was fine. There is a refrigerator and that is just great. Water does get on the floor every time you use the shower, and that's no ideal, but it was ok. The room is not cleaned daily. There was a city tax charge The mall with a grocery store and many food options was about a 5 minute walk. We never ate breakfast there so can't comment on that. Overall great choice to save some money and still be close to Disney
The stuff and location are very good. The room cleaning services not so good. We was there for whole week and unfortunately room cleaning services was not good. Weaved empty bottels and they was there after room cleaning. They do not have spare pillows. We was 4 people and had only 2 big towels. Else that everything was fine
Upon arrival the hotel looked exactly as it did in the photos. Very crisp and clean. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and our room was impeccably clean. Staff were very helpful providing information and directions. 2 minute walk from the train station, with a Disney shuttle bus stop directly in front of the hotel. There was a small glitch with the free wireless internet on our second day but it was solved by that evening when we got back. I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Disneyland.
Excellent hotel staff, very friendly and competent English speakers. Room and hotel public areas were clean and well maintained. Hotel food was very good. We were able to order a meal in the restaurant at 9pm and didn't feel rushed to finish.
The receptionists were excellent in helping to choose the appropriate rail ticket for hopping around Paris, which was the Mobiles, about four Euros cheaper than the Paris Viste.
Rooms had air conditioning, tea and coffee, and HD TV(only BBC World News) was in English, but you don't go on a trip to watch TV. Plenty of free parking, railway station about 15-20 minutes away.
Excellent shopping mall near called Bry 2.
When we read the reviews we were concerned. But the surprise to find a great hotel for such a good price was fantastic.
One thing you must ask is where the shuttle waits. The airport is huge and it is easy to get lost.
Kyriad is right next to a shopping centre with a super market, which was ideal for us doing Disneyland on a budget. Only two stops from Torcy to disney. Very easy to get from Charles de gaulle airport. Just two trains.
Very helpful friendly staff.
Arrived at the hotel Thursday and stayed until Sunday. The staff were very welcoming. My Daughter is only 2 and has milk on a regular basis. There were no shops around and they allowed me to help myself at breakfast which was very considerate. The room was cosy and clean and had the essentials that we needed.
Very good experience overall. Right next to one of the exits from the RER station at Val d'Europe so no problem getting back even late at night. Third time staying here and would definitely stay here again.
