Decent hotel, clean rooms in good location. Simple but price quality relationship is correct. Location very central but a little shady at night, but nothing out of the ordinary. Staff was friendly but hotel is generally understaffed.

We just returned from a ten day stay at the Monte Pascoal. We had a full ocean view with a lovely balcony. We slept very well with the great air conditioning in a room that was basic but clean and comfortable. Always hot water and good water pressure. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. Staff couldn't have been nicer. We took advantage of the World Cup amenities and several nearby bars and restaurants. Price was definitely high, because of the World Cup but overall we were very happy. Had wifi, but it was slow.

The Golden Tulip lived up th ethe reeputation of the chain. Excellent facilities overall, bnut i would put sun umbrellas by the pool and update the gym equipment. Food excellent, especially impressed wit hroom service.
The staff were exceedingly helpful and were always polite and cheerful.
IWOULD GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL AND WILL USE THE CHAIN AGAIN.
Very nice hotel, excellent clean rooms, wonderful sea view, helpful staff, good wi-fi, good A/C. Breakfast sounded a bit overpriced, so we went to the hotel next door for breakfast (half the price).
The pool was quite nice (almost an infinity pool), though not very big so early bird wins the best location and sun spot.
There is not a lot going on in Rio Vermelho, but Pelorinho is accessible with taxi for 15-20 BRLs (there always was a taxi parked outside). Airport is also quite accessible. With meter on is costs roughly 75 BRLs.

Helpful staff, notably Mario. Very nicely designed, simple and clean. A short walk up and down narrow cobblestone streets to the Church of St. Francis and other attractions. Enjoyed Samba music in historic square and relative silence at Pousada.
