"Nice hotel close to city centre. Easy for station"
A brilliant city centre hotel with friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend. Perhaps best to have a room at the back as the front rooms are a tad noisy from traffic - but nothing to worry about!
Friendly staff always eager to help with information about Nice and local facilities. The rooms are adequate even if a bit on the small side. Coffee/tea making facilities/phone/ hairdryer. The hotel and rooms were spotless. Bedding and towels changed daily and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The bathroom had both shower and bath, clean teeth beakers everyday and cleaned to an exceptionally high standard.
Easy to find the hotel, taking the number 98 bus from the airport at 6 euros each. the journey is straight forward down the promenade taking approx 10/15 mins. Get of at Hotel Albert el as the bus leaves the promenade. The easiest way to walk to the hotel (7 mins) after getting off the bus, walk on to the promenade and turn right down the pedestrianised street after McDonalds. When the street meets up with the rd (pharmacy on left) you will see a Spar shop to your right. The hotel is located just after the Spar shop with 2 large plants outside the entrance.
I will certainly being going back to stay at this hotel in this perfect location for exploring the new and old town of Nice. If you can, book a room overlooking the courtyard at the back to avoid any street noise (bin men come at 2am each morning)
After an exhausting flight from Paris and been stuffed around by air France, it's was such a realive coming to a hotel that understood and accommodated my needs. Room was immaculate and the staff were very understanding. Thank you for an enjoyable 2 days and I hope to see you very soon.
The hotel location was a perfect base for visiting the old town, walking east to the harbour area and west to the trendy designer shopping area. The beach is only a short walk through town. Located in a small pedestrian square it also very quiet at night because of no passing traffic and I did not hear the nearby trams at all. There are so many nearby places for breakfast, including the café opposite, which while only offering basic food is full of charm & friendly locals.
The hotel staff are so friendly, helpful and all speak very good English. I stayed 4 nights; my room was at the front, adequate for one person but might be a bit tight for a couple staying more than a few days, no smaller than similar hotels I have used on my previous 2 visits to Nice. My one complaint would be the water pressure which was woeful for a shower (fairly normal unfortunately).
I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and shall definitely stay there again on future visits.
