Nice front desk staff of young people all very helpful. 5 minutes from the metro station (there is a shortcut that we didn't learn about until after we checked in). Room was very clean and utilitarian. Comfortable. Serves basic foods during the day and at night and alcohol at night. Breakfast was good. Very good price. I would stay here again.
The hotel is in a very convenient location in the centre of Munich close to the main railway station and a short walk away from the main sights of the city centre. It is a traditional style hotel so has plenty of character but all the facilities have been updated and modernised.
I was travelling by train every day of my stay and wanted the convenience of being close to the central station (Hauptbahnhof), which is 7-8 minutes walk from the hotel.
The hotel staff I met on check-in and check-out were friendly, polite and helpful, and could converse clearly in English when I reached the limit of my knowledge of the German language.
My room was very clean on arrival and cleaned by the maid each day. It and a number of others on my floor had recently been redecorated (there were temporary signs on the doors advising guests of this and asking them to take care of the new plaster and paint) and renovation was taking place elsewhere in the hotel. I booked a room with a kitchenette to give me the option of making myself something to eat if I chose to, but I wasn't in the room long enough each day to prepare anything for myself and I ate out instead. I did use the fridge each evening though to chill drinks. The fridge also contained a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic mini-bar items, and there were snack items available too. There was also a safe in the room.
The room didn't have air conditioning and I was unable to sleep with the window open because there was some road noise outside, so to get around the room becoming too warm at night I just left a window open each morning to keep the room cool and then closed it when I returned each evening, and I was able to sleep perfectly comfortably.
I would certainly stay here again.
