we stayed at dom pedro 2 adults one 3 year old this is our second time ,for the price you can`t get a better hotel we had just room only because there are lovely eating places outside the hotel or in the centre we also hired a car which for us was a must as we went round the island. the hotel is not 5 star so if youe fancy a 5 star but think you can get the same service your mistaken. but for a place to stay for room only you cant beat it.the swimming pools are not heated but the time we went the weather was hot so nice and refreasing for us .they have 3 pools in total and tennis courts plus free internet at reception only. once again i stress for the price it`s great but do remember it is a 3 star.
The Hotel Madeira is very clean through out, the staff were very freindly and helpful at all times nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was right in the middle of all the resturants and shops, a 2 minute walk from the marina. It is only a b&b but this is not a problem as it so near everything, it also has a pool on the roof and a bar which does also have a small food menu.
Would recommend this hotel, had a excellent stay here.
Great hotel for couples. Room was exactly what we wanted and the spa facilities were great, including free use of hot tub, sauna and indoor and outdoor pools! Hotel staff were happy to help when asked and the hotel was an easy distance from Funchal centre, either by bus for €1.90 or a pleasant 20 minute walk. Balcony view of the sea was incredible as was the view of Funchal from the rooftop. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
I am very glad that booked this hotel thanks to all good reviews! The room with a balcony had everything to provide a comfortable stay. Do pay for an ocean view vroom as it doesn't only give a great view but also keeps you away from the noise of the road behind the hotel. The breakfast was great and well worth the money paid! There was a good choice of breads, cereals, fruits, hot and cold drinks, some cheese and meats, and also hot cooked eggs, sausages, baked beans. Looking for a meal out will cost you much more time and money in the area in the morning.
It was great to discover that the hotel has a sun deck on the 11th floor with glorious views of Funchal, and also a lovely spa with an indoor pool ( in addition to the outdoor one), jacuzzi, sauna and gym. One can also book a massage for additional cost. There is a curtacy bas to Funchal every hour which was great! Amazingly, they also organise an entertainment almost every evening.
Wifi is provided downstairs in a lovely resting area.
All in all a very pleasant stay.
I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR THIS HOTEL. IT IS ,BY DESIGN A PERFECTLY SITUATED RESTING POINT TO ENJOY THE SENSATION OF BEING IN FUNCHAL,WHILE BEING CARRIED BACK IN TIME TO QUIETER DAYS AND TO HAVE THE CHANCE TO VIEW THE TOWN AND IT'S SETTING AGAINST THE ATLANTIC.
IT'S A SMALL HOTEL WHICH ENABLES THE STAFF TREAT ALL THEIR GUESTS WITH EQUANIMITY AND AN OLD-FASHIONED PERSONAL STYLE VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND THESE DAYS.
WE HOLIDAYED HERE 15 YEARS AGO, AND CAME BACK TO SEE IF WE STILL FELT THE SAME ABOUT IT. IT'S STILL THE MOST ROMANTIC CORNER OF A LOVELY ISLAND.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night only as we were due to board a cruise ship the next day. The apartment was clean and functional. We enjoyed having the balcony which was an extra bonus. Its good value for the price you are paying. We enjoyed a lovely meal and breakfast at the restaraunt which is adjoining this hotel. Our cruise ship let us down and I cannot speak too highly of the staff who helped us enormously to sort our flights back, Booked us into their other hotel which is in the North of the island and helped us hire car.
This is the second time I stay at this hotel, staff were so friendly and very helpful.I have a small child, so I did not wanted to stay to high up so they accomodated to an even better and child friendly room, very confortable and clean on second floor where we all felt so welcoming. I definately recomend this hotel, very near to town, you can walk through promenade only takes 15 minutes, where you can enjoy and mesmerize the beautiful nature of Madeira: flowers, exotic trees, the views of the mountains and the sea
