Recently had to decamp in the Leicester area, having travelled down on my motor bike for a meeting with aclient close to the hotel. I was able to check in at 2 pm and once changed, attended my meeting and returned to the hotel later that evening. The reception area was bright and clean and the room itself whilst basic was comfortable if basic. However, the hotel bar was well equipped and very pleasant and given that I chose for the hotel for its convenience and price, access to a pleasing bar area was much appreciated. The car park was large and secure with CCTV and my bike was perfectly secure , ( a prime concern for me ). Staff were friendly and the evening meal I had in the restaurant perfectly acceptable if a little less than convenience food served in a light and airy space. For the money, I would not fault the hotel at all and would happily use it again should I need to be in Leicester on business.

We stayed here for one night for a wedding reception. It is clean, well laid out, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Our room on the 7th floor had a great view over Leicester, facing the Roman Jewry Wall site. We had traveled from Bedford up the M1, and our satnav led us straight into the hotel car park.
There was a tv in the room, and a kettle and drinks. It would have been nice to have a fridge to put our drinks in, but it was okay.
We paid for the breakfast. I was a bit worried about not being able to eat anything because I am a Coeliac (gluten free), but the hotel kindly provided me with a gluten free toasted bun, which I ate with scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato and mushroom. Very tasty. I could see that people were cross-contaminating the breakfast by picking up sausages containing gluten and other items that should have been gluten free with the same tongues. For some coeliacs this could be serious, but I used tongues that were furthest away from the gluten containing items. I didn't get 'glutened', which was good. Every dining experience for a Coeliac is a risk. Strangely, I was offered soya milk with my tea, so I dont think the staff understood what gluten was, or what it can do to a coeliac at all. Never mind. I survived to tell the tale. Since we originally come from Leicester we will most certainly be visiting the Holiday Inn again. Hopefully for longer.
A great place to stay for Leicester City centre. We managed to park in the small car park. The room over looked the railway lines but with the window closed you couldn't really here the trains. The bed was very confy and the power shower was excellent.Great value, great staff.Would stay again.
We stayed 1 night in March 2014. We are a family of 4 adults and stayed in twin double bed.
It was the cheapest hotel and I cannot really fault it. Great shower (you'd be surprised how rare this is), comfortable beds, tv worked, good quantity of beverages, very helpful staff and only 15 mins to Leicester central.
Obviously not best surroundings but if you want somehere cost effective and good quality you wont go wrong.
A great hotel, steeped in history, very nice food in the restaurant, well done Sydney, probably the best hotel breakfast I have had in the UK, eggs Benedict cooked to perfection and lashings of hollandaise , Earlier reports would have had me believe that I could expect loud noisy guests attending weddings, but despite staying on a Saturday it was a blissful nights sleep, speedy and efficient book in and helpful friendly staff.
