"Excellent location"
Good price and generally entirely satisfactory. Toilet was somewhat cramped next to the shower.

"Loved the area!"
The area was fantastic, I'd highly recommend a morning of walking up the ancient Roman road, Rue Mouffetard, and the surrounding Latin Quarter streets up to the Pantheon. It's absolutely beautiful and feels as though you're wandering through the real heart of Paris. The restaurants in Place de la Contrescarpe (surrounding the fountain at the top of Rue Mouffetard) are well worth a visit. I could have sat and watched the day go by for hours - utterly idillic. The hotel was beautifully furbished, very modern but still in-keeping with the style of the very old building. The standard rooms are a LOT SMALLER than they look on the photos. Still, very comfortable, but don't expect to be doing cartwheels. The staff were pleasant and the hotel was very quiet, so don't worry about not getting a good night's sleep. There are two Metro stations, a few bus stops and some amazing patisseries very close to the hotel too. I'd recommend using the CityMapper app if you're going to be using the buses - it makes getting back to the hotel in the evening a lot easier, plus it's SO much cheaper to get a bus than a taxi. If you're able to, PLEASE walk every where you possibly can. Paris is full of life and beauty and you will completely miss it all if you take the Metro all the time. Get lost and explore.

The hotel is at the bottom of the latin quartier, in a very Parisian area, with lots of local restaurants and bars. Easy …More

"Great place"
A great place but not all the rooms are air-conditioned. Mine wasn't air-conditioned. But I had a bathtub. Terrific place, helpful and breakfast is terrific, plentiful, not the normal continental style. Central location, close to Subway, and a great Italian restaurant down the street.

"Excellent location on the left bank."
Easy walking distance to Notre Dame, Cluny Museum, bookstores, bistros, and the many restaurants on the hill up to the Pantheon and Sorbonne. We enjoyed visiting the tiny, nearby "Delices du Fournil" for a coffee and croissant before heading out for a day of exploration of the left bank and city sites. Recovery from sore feet was hastened at the end of the afternoon by stopping at a sidewalk table along Blvd. St. Germaine for a wine or beer and people-watching. We had many excellent dinners at restaurants "up the hill" from the hotel ranging from pizza to more formal fare. The Verlaine was the best of the bunch. Moderately expensive but not outrageous (make reservations). We first stayed at the Hotel St. Germaine during a 999 visit, when the hotel was still in it's 1930's style. It was quaint and enjoyable then, but we did not know quite what to expect with its recent radical redecoration and renaming to the Moderne Hotel St. Germaine. Fortunately, our recent stay was equally enjoyable. The hotel's modern garb is certainly different, but the location, cleanliness, comfort (except for the strange lighting in room #17) and the friendly staff are what made staying at the hotel a positive experience..

"Great location, needs better cleaning/maintenance"
Loved the location of this hotel; close to great bakeries/food, close to a Metro station, and just far enough away from the most touristic area to be a bit quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only complain was that the rooms were not as clear as we would expect and the hotel facilities could use better maintenance. Rooms are small (to be expected), small elevator helpful for luggage, air conditioning works well (and was needed in July). We got a rate less than half of rack which was reasonable overall.
