Pocket Guide: 3 Stars Hotels in Cape Cod

3 Star Hotels in Cape Cod

With the large number of towns and villages in Cape Cod, it’s not surprising that there’s a large range of three-star hotels. You’ll find plenty of three-star hotels in the towns of Falmouth, Dennis, Yarmouth and Hyannis, as well as some of the smaller villages.

Choose a three-star Cape Cod hotel in a colonial mansion, or opt for a beachside resort with sweeping sea views. There’s also a selection of attractive three-star hotels in Cape Cod’s picturesque villages, some with indoor pools.

Three-Star Hotels for Active Holidays

Rent a bicycle and tackle some of the 22 miles of paths along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. All along this former railway line, you can cycle through lush forests and stop for a quick swim in one of the ponds. Cape Cod’s beaches offer every type of water sport, with some perfect for windsurfing, water skiing and kite-boarding.

If you’re a golfer, stay in a three-star hotel near ones of the 20 public golf courses, or splash out on a round at one of the dozen-or-so private courses. Tee off amid spectacular sea views or, in typical Cape-Cod style, on a course that overlooks the famous cranberry bogs .

Cape Cod for Culture and History Lovers

Cape Cod’s festival calendar offers a non-stop selection of concerts and parties all along the coast. Discover the story of Cape Cod’s oldest town, Sandwich, with a visit to Hoxie House. This 17th-century house is the oldest in Cape Cod and re-creates what life was like for early European settlers. For a different view on history, check out Sandwich’s Heritage Museums & Gardens, which includes an extensive collection of vintage automobiles.

Go to Yarmouth for a leisurely walk along Captains’ Mile, a handsome stretch of old colonial houses. While most are private homes, you can visit a few that are run by the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth. Step into the 1840 Captain Bangs Hallett House, which was owned by a wealthy sailor who made his fortune overseas. There’s also Edward Gorey House, once home of the artist who illustrated books by Lewis Carroll and HG Wells.
