We must say that the hotel staff were among the best we have ever had. If you made a request it was taken care of with a smile and they took care to fill the request with a bit more than you exspected. The breakfast was very good and as much as you wanted to eat. Tea time menu was very good most days and it's all you can eat from soup to sweets. Side trips were arranged by the hotel reception with good advice and tips. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
We spent a week there with my 7 months pregnant partner, which was interesting to start with. The Hotel was great, only downside is its location as the transport from the airport took nearly 3 hours because it was the last drop off of the 18 hotels in the route, which was more then then the flight from London..
Food from Ok to good, plenty of fruits to eat if you go all inclusive, which i would recommend. The restaurant is facing the seaside which makes every meal a great pleasure. The beach was really nice, there was a rocky part nearby where you could see some fish if you are into snorkelling.
We did not book a seaside room to save that extra money for excursions but we wish we had, as our room on the second floor was right above the little stage. Every night the singing and dancing had gone on till 11 - half 11 p.m., which was very annoying as we could not sleep, or even watch TV.
The main clientele is german, which i did not mind, nice to talk without anyone understanding you. We are Hungarians by the way..
Definitely worth to see the beautiful Caves called Drach. It has the largest lake underground in Europe which is breathtaking. They give a classical concert like every 2 hours or so, on 3 slowly moving boat with changing background and underwater lights behind them. Truly unforgettable.
The guide on the excursion was very professional and friendly, she was from Mallorca, never run out of an interesting story about it :). I would highly recommend the tour to anyone.

A great find and not what we were expecting. A hotel with individual chalets that were very comfortable with bedroom, bathroom and living room with small kitchenette. All basic but adequate. Good bathroom with excellent shower and plenty of hot water. The two swimming pools on site were excellent and plenty of sun loungers around the leisure pool. We went out most of the time but enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Food was good, plenty of it and lots of choice. There were set times for supper but nobody was really checking. Hotel was very popular with German parents and young famillies and they were a delight. There did seem to be German reps there organising activities but we didn't really find out what this was all about. The whole atmosphere was very relaxed, no excessive noise, ideal for famillies and couples. Not sure if teenagers would find it very exciting but plenty to do around the area. I would recommend a hire car as you get to see a lot more and saves on airport transfers waiting around. I would definitely go back again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Janeiro last week. The hotel common areas (foyer, lift lobbies and dining room) were modern and bright and the bar area provided a nice indoor break from the sun.
Our room faced the street and although spotlessly clean and in good condition it could do with a little bit of updating and it was a little noisy on our balcony with buses and the tourist train going past regularly. The beds and balcony furniture weren't particularly comfortable but we didn't spend much time in the room so it wasn't a big problem for us. Our main complaint was the lack of soundproofing between rooms - thankfully our neighbours weren't particularly rowdy!
We stayed half board and the food was very good for most of our meals, breakfast in particular was always good. The evening meals were varied but always had a couple of regular staples like pizza and pasta dishes for those who are perhaps more reluctant to try different cuisine.
The pool areas were well kept and we usually managed to find sun loungers in the shade in the afternoon around the larger pool. The smaller pool area was busy for the majority of the day. The beaches nearest the hotel were lovely but watch out for the rocks on the ground in some of the shallow areas.
The hotel spa was very pleasant and again spotlessly clean.
All in all we had a lovely stay at the Janeiro and the surrounding area of Can Picafort was just what we had hoped for. Beautiful beach but not ram packed with tourists.

Had a fantastic holiday, food was excellent and we were spoiled for choice. Hotel facilities were good and well used by all. A good selection of shops and beach all easily within walking distance. A visit to the local market can be easily achieved by using the little road train which stops at the hotel.
The hotel wasnt bad, the service was ok, and the staff friendly. However, there is a NOISY PLAYGROUND at the back of the hotel apartments. It is incredible how a small motorcycle can make so much noise, apart from the families that come to the playground with their children to play with. And I couldnt stay in my room until 10pm, closing time of the playground.
