The hotel I usually stay in while visiting family in Budapest was fully booked the weekend Ii planned to visit the city and therefore I was forced to find another hotel in the area I usually stay when I am in Budapest. My husband and I had passed this quirky apartment building on one of our neighborhood walks, but we certainly didn't think it was an apart hotel (apartment/hotel)... I booked with E & G Residencce because I thought it would be convenient for once to stay in a fully equipped apartment and the price was very reasonable. I was extremely happy I did. The apartment I was given was bright, airy, very large, immaculately clean and very conveniently located. I bought a few things for breakfast and enjoyed waking up in the morning and not having to rush to the dining room before breakfast hours ended.

The staff was absolutely wonderful, helpful, and friendly! They helped us set up cab rides and gave us a ton of information about the city. The room (we booked a standard double bed room) was huge! It had the bed, a TV, a fridge, a bathroom, a huge closet, and a desk. The only reason I rated the room a 4 for cleanliness is because the soap dispenser hadn't been cleaned/refilled in a while and all that would come out of it was crusty and kinda gross.
The hotel is also very central! A 5 minute walk from Fashion Street and less than 10 minutes walk to many central destinations.
brilliant location right at the pest end of elizabeth bridge and the shops and the danube cruises are all less than 5 minutes walk away the hotel is old but very clean the staff were very helpful and polite would definitely stay there again
"Excellent location to Market Hall and Vaci Street"
Although I was booked here I did not stay due to a technical hitch as they called it. They did arrange an excellent alternative at the Estillo Hotel round the corner which was very nice indeed. The location is great and you can easily get to all the main attractions by foot. Hotel Estillo is very modern and great facilities.
This hotel is close enough to the action without being disturbed by it. On the same side street as the synagogue, it is across the street from a Hop On/Hop Off bus stop, two blocks from the large ferris wheel and about a 10-15 minute walk to the river and the docks for the cruises. I booked rooms for myself, my friends and their teenage daughters and they were all clean, well appointed and had spacious bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and I say that as someone who normally doesn't sleep well on the first night of a trip. No problems here. They even had the hypoallergenic bedding I requested and it was just as comfortable. When I come back to Budapest, I am staying here. Located nearby are small cafes, restaurants and even Irish and English pubs. The Hard Rock Café is about 10 minutes away walking toward the river and located on the Vorosmarty Square. We came for the Christmas market, but come to Budapest and stay here anytime!! The price was fantastic and included a filling breakfast buffet (with warm, freshly made bread no less!). The hotel staff were extremely helpful with obtaining event tickets and giving advice on where to go and how to get there. They present you with an entire envelope filled with tourist options when you check in along with several maps. You really can't beat this hotel - it's the entire package and you will not be sorry if you stay here.
Perfect location in downtown Budapest. Close to the scenic river spots and all the tourist strips and shops. Room was clean and well-equipped. 24 hr staff was very helpful and English-speaking. Wireless internet was solid. Lots of TV channels - I even saw an NHL game. Entrance area is a bit sketchy-looking and could probably be cleaned up and lighted a little better. A bit tough to find the entrance - I walked past a couple of times before spotting it. I'd definitely stay here again.
