"Very pleasant hotel overlooking the sea"
Very good hotel within walking distance of almost everything overlooking the sea. The room was very pleasant the only down side was it was in the basement which I was not told about and would probably upgraded to a sea view room if I had known. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful I would go there again.

"Good hotel but expensive for limited facilities"
Had a good stay with my son. There room was clean and big enough, but basic. The location was good and staff were helpful. The internet was a little confusing with a basic option and a premium pay option. There is building work next door so no peace during the day, but got a quiet night.

"Very good central location"
Nice welcome - very accommodating about gluten free bread - room with side sea view good but not so much at 3.30am when there are queues at Pryzm nightclub on opposite corner but this probably no problem for younger guests.

Seattle Hotel

"Large room with good bathroom "
Good base for visiting Brighton and surrounding area without the parking hassles of being in the city. Hotel is about 1.5 miles from Brighton centre, but easy walk or buses every 7-10 minutes / lovely old electric railway along the seafront. Marina location means free parking during hotel stay + lots of chain restaurants to choose from. Hotel has large rooms throughout - plenty of white, bright space. A large bathroom with two sinks + a huge towel warmer where you can adjust the heat and it actually does warm the towels + bathrobes all very good. Breakfast was done well. Good front-of-house guy kept things moving, with food cooked to order - vegetarian eggs benedict with flat mushroom and fresh spinach in place of ham was memorable + proper leaf tea. Only downside was the noise from nearby building works at the marina. Didn't start until 8am and the doubleglazing helps/not much the hotel can do about it and Brighton will always involve some noise as it's a city.

"Boutique hotel -very central"
Fantastic staff -so helpful in forwarding a converter plug which I had left behind. Breakfasts were so good- great variety and beautifully cooked. Only problem with heavy bags and poor knees is that there is no lift for the 3 floors. Great position and would certainly stay there again.

"Positive:Everything. Negative:Nothing."
Overall, I am happy with my experience at this hotel. *Lobby is very beautiful. *Bed was comfortable and housekeeping was consistent and attentive. *Downtown location is sketchy at times, but it's walking distance to many nice and affordable restaurants. *Very close to SEA.

ibis Brighton City Centre

"Close to the station"
Stayed at the ibis for the weekend, good location close to the station but as I requested a high level room I had the bonus of still having sea view. The hotel is only 10/15 min walk from the sea front and there's loads of independent shops and cafes nearby. Staying in a budget hotel meant that both on Friday and Saturday nights I woke up in the middle of the night with party people arriving and not being very silent. The Sunday night was very peaceful though ;) The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The new ibis shower rooms are slightly annoying though as the door has to be slammed to close (you cannot twist the handle), but the water pressure is great. The sound insulation is not great though and when the neighbours (next door, upstairs, downstairs) opened the water you could hear it loud and clear (if you have light sleep this may be quite disturbing). Overall you know what you're getting when you stay at an ibis and I would stay there again if returning to Brighton.

Pocket Guide: East Sussex Brighton 3 stars Hotels

On the south English coast, Brighton is a popular beach destination, especially with Londoners as the train ride between the two cities is less than an hour. The seafront has bars, restaurants, nightclub,s and amusement arcades, as well as two old-fashioned piers. Brighton hosts the Brighton Festival each May, which is the UK's second-largest arts festival.
