Perfect for the solo traveler...
I arrived late late evening, exhausted. The night crew took care of me to get me into my room with little fuss ~ they are to be awarded for their kindness! This is all about location in this sea side town. Anything further would not have worked unless you fancy walking in the dark or taking a bus to get into the city center. And, I'm a avid walker.
The pool if you have a chance to utilize it is quite amazing with a sandy beach included right at the hotel. The breakfast was convenient as well. As for pricey, Australia is pricey unless you are on a shoe string budget. This extra few $$ was worth the effort to book this hotel. Overall, hotel was clean and friendly. They do need to work on getting WIFI into their rooms ~ only available in the very spacious lobby area.
Hotel was excellent in a great position a little away from the town centre so nice and quiet but only two minutes drive to town centre, close enough to Katoomba and Scenic world and closer to Jenolan Caves than Katoomba. Hotel was very clean even if decor is quite dated the size of the rooms (stayed in two bedroom apartment) made the stay with my two kids very comfortable. The girl working at the check in desk seemed like i was interrupting her and she had bad day when i checked in which wasnt very welcoming. The Games room and the heated pool was awesome for the family. TV could have been a little bigger for such a large room however loved staying at the Redleaf and would definately go back every time. Jenolan Caves was awesome and cant wait to go back.
Used as a base to explore the blue mountains, close to katoomba town centre by car. Recently updated rooms very comfortable with air con or heating cleaned to a high standard with excellent house keeping daily. A lovely pool area outside great for relaxing after hard days exploring the area. Would defiantly stay again
Right across the road from Leura station, ideal location for us. Room was large and well set up to enable us to self cater for the 3 days. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was great value for money and I would recommend to anyone.
Age of the hotel has been used to advantage with decorations, furniture and facilities from an earlier period. Some old jazz and blues music in the background, comfy old armchairs and sofas, a cosy fire, and a small pool table. Staff were very friendly, helpful, efficient and answered all our "tourist questions". Within easy walking distance of restaurants. Limited off road parking but on street parking was safe enough.
We arrived before check in but using the phone provided, the manager arrived and allowed us to check in to the room. It was very warm and comfortable and a complimentary breakfast supplied on the first morning. Staff gave good recommendations for dining and local attractions.
