We were attending the World Robots Olympiad. The hotel being so new was in fantastic condition, however only 2 of the several restaurants were open so there no chose or selection for dining. The breakfast was ok, but the kitchen had trouble keeping up the crowds so on 2 of the 3 days we were stuck with a very limited selection. More was offered but was either finished or being cooked. The mini mart on site had a limited selection of goods and beverages but again was cleaned out by the 2nd day, fortunately there was a mini mart outside and around the corner of the complex but as soon as word got out to the masses it too suffered in stockings. I guess it was suppose to be a taste of the Soviet era gone by. Shops with little or no merchandise to sell!

I stayed at the Ekodom for three nights during the Russian Grand Prix. The room was very comfortable, especially for the price. They had a nice cafe with pretty good food for dinner. The English speaking there was a little limited but it wasn't a problem. The heated pool also looked very nice, although I didn't use it as I forgot a swimsuit. The one main issue was the location. I picked this hotel because it was closer to the autodrome than central Sochi, but I discovered the downside was that the only means of transportation was a taxi if I wanted to go to central Sochi, central Adler, or the track. I heard that there were buses going from Sochi to the track.
