"An Excellent Hotel in All Respects"
A great hotel, excellent location in super surroundings with lots of history. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We met the owners who were really nice people and incredibly passionate about the hotel. The hotel rooms including the public area were extremely clean and tidy and well presented. We'd definately recommend this to anyone and we'll be staying there again on our next visit to York.

"Lovely B and B - very homely feel."
We stayed in this B&B which is about a 45 minute drive from York. The B&B is set in a beautiful house and we were made to feel very welcome from the beginning. Just a shame we only stayed the one night as we would most certainly return and intend to do so. I would highly recommend the Orchard Lodge.

"Very central hotel in York"
The hotel is very central with a lot of bars around and food options. The room was small but comfortable and they put an effort in the design to make it more attractive. The big problem was the noise as there is a bar open until late just next to the hotel with live rock music which you can hear even with your window closed. The hotel offer earplugs which was really helpful.

Pocket Guide: North Yorkshire York 2 stars Hotels

Once enclosed by ancient fortified walls, York offers a wealth of cultural and historical sites, including York Castle, the National Railway Museum, and York Minster, a Gothic cathedral in the city center. The Shambles is a pedestrian-friendly street dating back to mediaeval ages, where it housed butcher shops. Today the scene is less gruesome, with quaint boutiques and tea rooms lining the road.
