Sosua is a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, about 10 minutes from the international airport. The town has a tourist area and a residential area that are separated by the main public beach. During World War II, Sosua welcomed a number of Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria. Today, the town has a small synagogue and is popular with European tourists and expatriates.
