This hotel was excellent for us. We are a family of 6 who traveled by car from UK and right from the moment the hotel was booked, the staff via email were very kind in answering queries. Then when we arrived, the hotel had an underground car park which was great and the staff were very friendly. We walked from the hotel to the center of town, which was like 15 mins away. The hotel is not central but given the facilities for parking and the possibility to walk to town - no need for public transport (though it is apparently easy to get a bus directly to and from town) made things easy for us.
As we traveled with a toddler, it was great to have the facility of a guest kitchen, this is very useful to prepare bottles etc, but also meals for the family. There are many supermarkets very near the hotel which makes it very easy to get essentials and cook your family mean in the guest kitchen.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. Highly recommended if you are a family and want to see Salzburg with the family!
The Hotel was simple and basic but provided everything one needs. Room was clean quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was typical. Rolls cold meat and cheese, cereals, tinned fruit salad etc.
Location was a mile or so from the centre but a very pleasant walk along the river bank foot path. Not so far from the station and had parking if one had driven there. Ideal. It was one of the few with room at a reasonable price and had availability during the Salzburg festival.
I would recommend it to all the un pretentious who need a really good value place to stay. Staff were helpful and spoke good English.
We chose this guest house for its situation.
Only a short bus ride into Salzburg and going the other way just minutes from the Lake district.
The guest house is in two houses.
The main bar / Restaurant building where breakfast is served as well and the seperate accommodation block on 3 floors.
Our room on the second floor was bigger than your normal double room.
No noise could be heard from the bar, but saying that it is a very quiet village anyway.
Staff were very friendly and helpfull.
Food was excellent and plentiful.
