The hotel is providing a lot more then just rooms. The setting of the hotel is stunning thus offering a lot more then a room and other standard amenities. The opportunity for a stroll in a park followed by a drink outside in the sunshine resulted in a more holiday like relaxation which was more than welcome after an intense day of business meetings. Highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the George and had a really nice time. We arrived late on Friday evening after the restaurant had closed however the friendly receptionist and kitchen staff opened the restaurant especially and offered us a meal off the extensive menu which we greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and very clean. The buffet breakfast and accompanying service was excellent. The only downside to our stay was the noise from the road as our room fronted directly onto the street/road however due to the location this problem is unavoidable. We will definitely book the George hotel again however we would choose a quieter room away from the noise of the traffic.

Excellent location within walking distance of centre or easy bus ride. Pleanty of parking and excellent breakfast. Some decorating work going on to tidy up the place. This is a good economical hotel and would use it again.
I booked the hotel back in April together with tickets for the MotoGP at Silverstone. After driving the best part of
3 hours we arrived at the hotel, only to find they had no reference of the booking. I had printed off my copy of conformation and reference number e-mailed to me by expedia, this didn't help in anyway.
We were then told that we would be lucky to find any rooms for miles because of the event at Silverstone. (this was the reason I booked in April) The hotel owner told us he was having trouble with expedia bookings around that time so it must have been lost then. With that we left the hotel drove for another 3 hours home again, only to have to do it all again the next day. As this was a birthday gift for my wife I was very disappointed.
So would I use expedia again NO would I use the same hotel NO

Situated in a very beautiful village and managed by very nice and helpful landlord and wife -just taken over the management. Very clean and fresh room and bathroom. Fairly priced. Will certainly stay again if in the area and recommend this little family run place.
