"Basic but very good value, clean and comfortable."
Lovely fluffy towels Glad I booked through Expedia as all the extras were included!!! Didn't matter that no breakfast. Could get coffee and snacks but wonderful cafe just below Hotel -Cafe Cappadocia that did wonderful breakfasts and was a Bistro also for meals. What was amazing was how quiet it was as Greys Inn Road is so busy. Useful bus stop opposite hotel for station and also for 45 to Camberwell!!!Can thoroughly recommend We shall be back !!
I was only in London for a few days, and this was the perfect location! Less than a 10 minute walk to Big Ben and the London Eye. The room was very clean. Like other comments I read, the room was a bit small. But I was still very comfortable in it. I never felt cramped. And it was perfect for me because I only slept there. It really was the perfect place.
Also, the staff were amazing! They were always willing to help when I had questions. I felt like they treated me as a friend, if I had a need, they were willing to help!! This was a great place to stay. I had the most amazing experience!! And as most of you know, a poor hotel experience can ruin a trip. But this hotel and the staff helped make London a dream come true! Thank you, thank you!
Firstly, I was very impressed with the hotel staff, especially Ana who had been very kind and patient. On the morning when we checked in, she did not insist that we settle the balance of the payment for the hotel because she knew that we were exhausted from our journey. Instead, we could do it the following morning. Secondly, the rooms were better than the other 2-star hotels that we've stayed in. The beds and duvet were extremely comfy as they were relatively new beddings. The selection of TV programmes were also enough to keep me and the kids glued to it. One of the main perks was having free WiFi which was fast and accessible. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk to Earls Court station which has 2 main lines - District and Piccadilly - which took us to all the main attractions in London. You could tell it's a fantastic deal when you see people checking in and out all the time, and they are fully booked most of the time. We certainly enjoyed our stay there.
The hotel is close to kings cross station but is on a loud and busy street that has cars all day and night. The rooms are right near the street and the windows do not lock and you can hear the cars and traffic through them very loudly. Hard to sleep. Random construction also. Hotel staff is bizarre and not very helpful. Maids do a nice job of cleaning. Internet is poor. Overall too expensive for what you really get staying in this hotel.
My room was small and basic, but that was exactly as advertised. What set the Swinton Hotel apart was the attention to detail - toiletries, tea, biscuits and a bottle of filtered water in the room every day, the provision of a folding table and chair, the included breakfast, the courtyard out the back... The list goes on. The location close to Kings Cross and St Pancras was very convenient, and the staff were absolutely fantastic, incredibly helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent value for money only 5 mins from Kings X"
Can't fault it for the money, pleasant staff who were eager to ensure we had a good stay. Rooms are cosy and compact but do the job and Tea/Coffee is plentiful in the room. Could have done with towel rail in bathroom but other than that did the job and I slept well.
