This 32-kilometre long island has two main towns, Korcula Town to the east, and Vela Luka to the west. Medieval Korcula Town sits on a small fortified peninsula. Marco Polo was born here, and his house is now a museum. Dont miss seeing the IMoreshka/I, a colourful medieval sword dance. In contrast, Vela Luka extends around a sheltered bay yielding therapeutic mud. Locals are renowned for singing iklapa/i, Dalmatian a cappella songs.
