On Highway 120, the former gold mining town of Groveland is 26 miles west of the entrance to Yosemite National Park. A historic downtown with shops and restaurants makes Groveland a popular stop for tourists heading east to Yosemite; the Iron Door Saloon, with original bar intact, is said to be the oldest continuously running saloon in California. Pine Mountain Lake is within two miles.
