This ancient Umbrian settlement in the upper Tiber basin retains its grid-like streets and monuments from medieval times. Visitors come mainly for the art collections in the Pinocoteca (Raphael, Ghirlandio and Lorenzetti) and the cathedral museum (early liturgical silver). The Umbrian Chamber Music Festival draws the crowds in late summer.
