"great experience in the middle of it all"
This was something different! When we wanted to take a shower, we found out that there aren't any western style showers around, everything is communal! We were a little apprehensive at first (being naked around others), but no one cares, no one will look at you. The idea is that you're a guest at the sauna with a sleepover (capsule). You'll be requested to walk around in their attire (robes), and you'll have free use of the sauna facilities, which is great. There's a hot & cold pool, as well as a sauna. What is irritating is the procedure you have to go through when going out/coming in. At arrival, take off your shoes after leaving the elevator to the 4th floor. Go to the desk, check in (some staff don't speak english though), and you'll have to place your shoes in the shoes locker. After that, you'll be handed the luggage locker key (they're small, you may have to place any suit cases in the locker area).
Each time you go out, you'll have to hand in your locker key, and you'll be given a piece of paper on which is written your locker number. When coming back, you have to hand them the piece of paper, you'll be given the locker key, and you'll have to change to the sauna robes...
The place has a late 70s, early 80s feel to it, which I thought was great. The capsules are OK to sleep in.Do bring your ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. They don't have a lock! So keep your valuables in the locker.
