"Good facilities. Not too far from subway station."
It's my first time in a capsule hotel so things are a little confusing at first with more-than-average rules than typical hotels (shoes off from the entrance, exchange shoe locker keys for your real locker keys, checkout and check in everyday you stay, etc). The floor smells a bit at the entrance of the capsule floor but inside the capsule was fine. The only thing I wasn't aware of until reaching there is there is only Japanese-style public bathing (at least for men). You can't find a private shower room. Good to have all toiletries you needed provided, e.g. soap, shampoo, towels, hair dryers, cotton buds. Wifi works most of the time.
The walk from the train station was already a pleasure, straight through the Senso-ji temple. I was welcomed by friendly, English-speaking staff.
My single room was very clean and simply laid out with tatami mats and comfortable futon, and provided with all facilities including wifi, a small bathroom, toiletries, water cooker, free tea, small snacks and a yukata (kimono to sleep in). The inn doesn't have much public space, but there's free tourist info and you can buy drinks from a machine.
The supermarket is a few minutes away, and the area around the Senso-ji temple is a popular low-rise shopping area with lots of simple restaurants. The temple itself is one of Tokyo's top sites.
The Tokyo Kiba hotel is one of the finest establishments I've ever had the blessing of visiting.
Comfortable capsule, clean bathrooms, and though the reception man remained nameless, he was one of the most helpful fellows I've ever encountered, and I now consider him a pal.
The place was pretty hard to find based on Expedia reviews only giving an English-character address. But if you are coming from the airport train Kensei Station then the easiest way to get to it is to turn left when you come out, then go under the railway (JR) line bridge and then take the first right. Otherwise it is a pain to navigate around there and its on the alley opposite the shops under the line. The entrance is also pretty hidden but its next to a big building with large DVD neon signs. There are a few on that road so jjust pay some attention when you pass it.
Anyway, nice from the line is not noticable - if that is what you were concerned about.
Facilities were good. Please bare in mind this is a Sauna hotel. That is, you can use Sauna, Spa, Hot Tub and then sleep in the capsule. You have to change in a communal facilities into some hotel clothes. Felt like Ryu from Streetfighter. No shoes either.
You can smoke in the communal area with the TV. But no smoking in the communal area with private TVs. Don't understand other peoples comments about smelling smoke. Perfectly fine. If you have a problem with smoke in public - perhaps Tokyo is not the place for you - cos this place is fine!
Great experience for $25 a night.
This hostel is great. It may not be as modern as some, but its kept in good condition and has everything you need. The staff here are really lovely and because of this, it is my favourite hostel I have ever stayed at. If you want to feel at home, meet some great people and have a relaxing drink out the front till the early hours of the morning then this is the place for you. Lovely people x
"Be reasonable on your expectation. Perfect for me."
Basic, clean room, -1 star for cigarette smoke intrusion, should have better isolation. -1 star for staff language, otherwise very helpful. As in other reviews, prepare to the smoke smell. Capsule itself is clean and have power supply. LCD TV discolored. I was put up in Flr #7 have to climb a flight. Flr #6 feels better, cleaner, better toilet and cooler.
