This 68-kilometre long island lies a two-hour ferry ride from the mainland port of Split. Very popular with the yachting crowd, its known for its lavender fields, vineyards and old Venetian-style stone buildings. Hvar Town is home to a 16th-century cathedral, a hilltop castle, and a marble paved piazza ringed with trendy cocktail bars and seafood eateries. Several of the nearby Pakleni Islets (accessible by taxi-boat) are devoted to nudism.
