Menorcas most attractive town, Ciudadella is a charming unspoiled warren of elegant 18th- and 19th-century mansions, palaces and churches. At its heart is a typically Spanish gothic-baroque cathedral, a picturesque arcaded shopping street, Ses Voltes, and a quaint old market area. The shopping is the best on the island, and for nightlife and eating out it rivals the capital Mahon.
